JSRG has teamed up with Moist Klam Productions for a great event at the Saint on April 16. Check out the news from Moist Klam:
Moist Klam Productions, with The Jersey Shore Roller Girls and Inked-Up Angels present:
"Jam Out with Your Klam Out - A Night of Bad-Ass Girl Punk Rock"
featuring: One-Eyed Doll (Austin, TX), Tara Elliott & The Red Velvets, The Invincible Gods and DJ Queen Klam!
Moist Klam Productions, the "pearl" of K.O. Entertainment LLC (Long Branch, NJ) unite with Inked-Up Angels and The Jersey Shore Roller Girls to present a night purely devoted to fierce, sexy chicks with vision and moxie who ROCK our WORLD everyday - and will soon rock yours.
"We hope this is just the beginning of many rockin' things to come. The local scene deserves everyone's support, and as women we wanted to put on an event showcasing some amazingly talented, beautiful, strong rock `n' roll women. With three great bands, plus the Jersey Shore Roller Girls and the Inked-Up Angels taking part, it's more than a show – it's a Klam Fest!" said Terri Wall of Moist Klam Productions.
One-Eyed Doll is a nationally touring, award-winning rock and roll power trio led by the iconic Austin, TX wild child guitarist Kimberly Freeman and described as: "Raucous, in-your-face grunge rock that will kick your ass in a good way, just like the lead singer." – Austin Soundcheck and "A Maelstron of musicality" – Edge Magazine. Back from live appearances at NAMM and currently on tour in North American, One-Eyed Doll makes their second appearance in a year in NJ, this time as headliners. For more info, music and video for One-Eyed Doll at www.oneeyeddoll. com
Tara Elliott and The Red Velvets is a garage/punk blues power trio whose sound can be described as equal parts retro and contemporary, with legendary influences ranging from Big Brother and the Holding Company, John Lennon, Muddy Waters, Iggy Pop and the Stooges, The Velvet Underground to The White Stripes. Imagine Janis Joplin resurrected, playing electric guitar with Iggy Pop and the Stooges wearing red velvet boots. Thomaxe of New York Waste magazine described Tara as "The Bastard Child of Janis Joplin and the Stooges." Head to myspace.com/ taraelliottblues for more info and free music.
A trio from East Brunswick, NJ The Invincible Gods is comprised of a guitarist/vocalist, a drummer, and lead vocalist Candace Keyes- a petite red-headed thunderstorm of ultimate energy and fervor. Notice there's no bassist? They don't need one. Keyes' surprisingly bold, soprano chops can belt through powerful choruses as Korman harmonizes and balances out the space where a bass might otherwise squeeze into the picture. The Times of Trenton says "When it comes down to it, they're more than just a good show. Try a rockin', energy-packed full of power show that leaves you breathless and wanting more". Check out www.myspace. com/theinvicible gods for music, pix and more.
The show takes place on Friday, April 16th 2010 at legendary club, The Saint - 601 Main Street in Asbury Park, NJ. Doors open at 8 pm / 18 + to enter / 10 klams gets you rockin'. www.thesaintnj. com
