Roller Derby's First World Cup Kicks Off Tomorrow in Canada!!!

The biggest event in modern Roller Derby since its inception 10 years ago in Austin, Texas takes place this Thursday through Sunday in Toronto with the 1st invitational Roller DerbyWorld Cup. Coming together will be 20-member teams and support from 13 nations, representing the 1110 leagues and 38 countries and some 60,000 participants demonstrating how our favorite pastime is now the fastest growing competitive sport in the world!! Teams from Brazil, Canada, England, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, New Zealand, Scotland, and Sweden will try to upset the highly favored USA team, chosen from the over 600 leagues in the US. Team USA players include many of our eastern favorites like Suzy Hotrod and Bonnie Thunders from Gotham Girls Roller Derby, Shenita Stretcher and Teflon Donna from Philly Rollergirls, Snot Rocket Science from Steel City Derby Demons, Clare D. Way from Boston Derby Dames and V Diva from Dutchland Derby Rollers.
